Just FYI.
So I figured I'd update you all on my plans for this account, and also my life and stuff.
I'm not really active on deviantart right now. This is obvious to my long-term watchers, but I figured I should let the newer watchers know, as well as those people who stumble across my account.
However, I do log on about twice a week to answer stock questions.I sort of read other comments, but for now I don't really have time to reply to them.
I do plan on coming back someday.I just don't really know when. >_<
I do plan on doing something with those commissions-and-more points.Maybe I'll give them away as prizes in a group contest. Maybe I'll upgrade the group as planned, using the points and paying for the rest. I don't really know. I've been gone for so long that everything's different and everyone's new. D: It'll take some time to talk to the right people and figure out what would be best and all that.
I haven't been drawing much these days, but I'd like to start drawing again.I've been busy, and I sort of stopped drawing. I'll pick up the pencil once in a while, but I'm so out of practice that I get frustrated fairly easily. I don't have a copy of Photoshop at the moment, so I'm not doing anything digital. I've been considering buying it and a new tablet, but these things cost money.
For anyone who's interested, here's the part of my journal where I talk about what I've been up to! WOOSo I FINALLY finished collage about a year ago. Took me long enough.
Got a business degree focusing on logistics and supply chain management and all that. The last couple terms of school were pretty intense. I pretty much stopped drawing and gaming and being a nerd for a while (SADFACE) because I didn't have the time. But I was enjoying school more or less, so it was OK.
Some of you may remember that I had this student job that I loved most of the time. I was sort of hoping to get hired on full-time with the school. I'll spare you all the full story, but pretty much the department F-ed up big time, mismanaged money, and laid off a bunch of student employees (and some full time employees) to try to save money. So I was laid off and don't feel super-motivated to work for those guys again.
Anyway, then I graduated a little over a year ago and was unemployed for a bit. I took the first job I could (this was last November or so), and it had it's ups and downs. It was full-time which was nice, but it looked like I was going to be an
impoverished shipping monkey for as long as I stayed there, so I started looking for other work.
About a month ago, I got a job with a small local company that a friend of mine works for. Now I'm an impoverished
receiving monkey!
Things are about the same as with the last company, only with better coworkers and better hopes of raises/promotions. So overall I can't really complain. I can pay the bills at least, and in this economy that's always a victory.
For the first time, I've had to think about my future and all that. I've always only really planned two years ahead at most, so thinking about things like retirement plans is a bit terrifying.
But I've been doing a bit of starting-my-own-company scheming, which is exciting. It won't happen any time soon, so at the moment I'm just saving what money I can and developing my skills.
As for what I've been doing for fun, I've been going on this Batman kick that I seriously can't get over. D: If I do start drawing again and come back to DA soon, be prepared for WAY TOO MUCH BATMAN FANART. I've also been baking all the time. Because you have no idea how much I love cake.
Anyway, that's all I have for now. I miss some of you guys so much! I hope you're all doing well.
